Fuel Injection vs. Carburetors
The main difference in fuel injection and a carburetor in an engine is fuel economy. In an automobile with a computer controlled fuel and firing system, the fuel is injected directly into the cylinder at just the right time. This atomized system helps in combustion by giving a more efficient and complete burn. Though carburetors have been around for a long period of time, being improved over the years, there is only so much that can be done with the design.
The carburetor has an intricate design of reservoirs, passages, jets, diaphragms and gaskets. The float and needle regulate how much fuel is held in the reservoir. The air flowing through the throat into the intake creates a vacuum that draws the fuel from the reservoir, through jets, into the air, flowing into the intake manifold. The rush of air flowing through passages in the intake helps the fuel mist to mix with the air before it flows into any available cylinder. It all sounds good, and it is, but one cylinder gets a little more fuel and less air than another.
The fuel injection system, on the other hand, is actually quite simple. Fuel is forced under pressure, through a fuel supply line to the injectors. The computer tells each injector when to open, and the fuel is then released into the cylinder. The fuel injector is made to atomize the fuel as it passes through, and the fuel that’s under pressure helps the atomization. Each cylinder virtually receives the same amount of fuel, which means the fuel is burned more completely thus increasing fuel economy.
In addition to the injectors, the computer control system also consists of several sensors that are strategically placed on the engine, that help the computer determine how much fuel to release into the cylinders. For example, the oxygen sensor, which is placed in the exhaust, tells the computer how much oxygen, as well as other gases, is in the exhaust, and it adjusts the fuel injected into the cylinder to produce the correct balance of exhaust gases. Overall, the carburetor or the fuel injection system will work sufficiently to power the vehicle. The fuel injection system will generally do it more efficiently.
Finding the Best Contract Hire Deal
Finding cars on a contract basis can be very stressful and time consuming. Whether you are looking to finance a lease vehicle on contract for yourself personally or for a company fleet, you want to find a company that has plenty of experience in the field. The UK has many options available for this type of business transaction and you want to ensure that your chosen vendor is able to support your needs in several ways. Let’s take a look some important things that you should look for when choosing a vendor for both personal leasing as well as company fleet car leasing.
Make sure that the company that you chose to do business with is able to offer you experience. You want the company to know the ins and outs of the business. Make sure you find a company that can offer experience in contract hire, leasing, and car financing markets. By increasing your expectation of experience in your vendor, you ensure ultimate satisfaction. You want to be able to work with this company for years to come.
You want to ensure that you have the largest selection possible from your lease contract company. All the experience in the world does you no good if your vehicle choices are limited. If you are looking to lease a fleet of vehicles for your company, this can be more challenging. But do not let up on your expectations. Require the best available selection possible.
Price is always an important factor. Make sure that you aren’t sacrificing your or your company’s pocket book for other expectations. A company should be able to offer you all of the above and still not sacrifice price. In fact, several companies today are able to offer you a price guarantee. Look for this guarantee as it is a sign that this company is truly competitive in the market.
Lastly make sure that the company you chose is active in the market. It’s always a good thing to try and get on mailing lists, email updates, special marketing events and giveaways from your vendor. This tells you that they are keeping a sharp eye one what their competitors are doing and they are doing what it takes to stay ahead of the game.
These are just a few guidelines when searching for a contract lease solution. Stay attuned, and don’t be afraid to ask the company questions about themselves and their competitors.

2010 Federal Crash Test Program
Beginning in 2010, along with that year’s model vehicles, updated window stickers will show an overall, updated safety rating. The new rating system will combine the results of rollover, side, and frontal impact tests. The newest changes to the testing process will include female crash dummies, which will enable testers to determine the difference between male and female bodily harm during an accident.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which is also known as the NHTSA, conducted additional testing for road-worthiness through its latest New Car Assessment Program. The new testing standards will be implemented as a permanent part of the new 2010 guidelines. In addition, new technologies such as warning systems for forward collisions, warning systems for lane departure, and new electronic stability controls will become standard equipment on all new vehicles. Unfortunately, despite the latest developments, the administration does not plan to rate or study the effectiveness of these devices.
Changes to the safety regulations are necessary in order to accurately describe the differences between various makes and models of vehicles, as well as to best indicate which cars are safest for car shoppers. The last time any significant revisions have been made, was way back in 1978, when the NHTSA began to crash cars into a flat, wall-type barrier at around 35 mph, where thereafter rating them accordingly for frontal impact damage and safety. At that time, only 30 percent of the tested vehicles received a four, or even a five, star rating. In 2007, approximately 98 percent of all tested vehicles earned this coveted, high star rating. In today’s market, it is exceptionally difficult for car shoppers to determine the safety and performance rating for different vehicles based on the NHTSA ratings alone. Once the new 2010 guidelines are in place, this will all change and consumers can once again shop with confidence.
