Practical tips on how to find a reputable limousine service in Toronto

The first question you should ask your limousine company when you are trying to gauge if they are reputable or not is the insurance policy coverage. A reputable limo company should have adequate insurance coverage for their fleet. For example if you are renting a standard stretched limo of 8 passengers, is the vehicle insured to cover 8 passengers in the event of an accident? Skipping on insurance coverage is a typical way a limo company can save money by cutting corners, but a reputable company will not. If you have any doubt or questions ask if you can see a faxed version of the insurance binder. Another good question to ask is “do you accept credit cards”. Because having a setup to accept all major credit card charges can be costly, many small companies will avoid this all together but a reputable limo company will offer such service. Ask if your limo service is willing to send or fax you a booking confirmation after your reserved your limo, this will show you just how professional this limo company is, as well as the level of customer service you can expect from them.
Ask for their cancellation policy, and what is the penalty and what is the minimum amount of time required for a cancellation. Once again this will be a direct reflection of their customer service and professionalism as a company. Another important question to ask is “will I be sharing a ride with anyone”, believe it or not some discounted limo services are able to offer you the rate because they book multiple parties in one limo run. Don’t be fooled by the low rates next time because you maybe forced to share a limo with other strangers. Another good question to ask is “can I rent a limo for 24 hours”? This will indicate how many drivers a limo company have, if they are low on man power they will not allow a 24 hour rental service, but if they are well equipped and have enough drivers on stand by, this maybe possible.
Don’t book your limo service based on Google ranking alone, why? Because some web sites are limo brokers where they have spent large amount of money just to rank well under certain search terms. And when you commit to a booking, you are not dealing with AAA limo services directly, instead you are book brokered to another limo service all together. This will become an issue if you get into an accident, or you are looking for a refund, so be careful not to become a victim of limo brokers. Usually the best way to determine this quickly is a phone call to the limo company and asks if you are speaking with their customer service department. Notice To Policyholders And Agents

Notice to Policyholders and Agents

The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation has entered into a non-confidential consent order with Magnolia Insurance Company placing Magnolia into administrative supervision. The Order of Supervision, paragraph 9, states Magnolia Insurance ordered to stop writing new business and non-renew existing policies

“Magnolia shall not write any new business and shall not renew business without the prior consent of the Office and without a full disclosure of the existence of this Order to the policyholder and the agent in advance of any renewal.” This company has been placed into supervision because the Office finds it to be in an unsound condition. Magnolia is bound by the notice provisions of Section 627.4133, Florida Statutes to appropriately notice non-renewals. Policies that are slated to renew now and in the first few weeks of January 2010 could not be properly noticed for non-renewal by Magnolia and Magnolia will renew the policy if the policyholder or agents request renewal. However, policyholders and agents should be aware that renewal with Magnolia is at your own risk and that of policyholders. Agents should seek to place any policy slated for renewal with another admitted carrier prior to the policy expiration date. Should you be unable to place with an admitted carrier, then you may resort to Citizens, assuming the application meets Citizens’ guidelines and requirements.

Is it Legal to Drive with a Cracked Windscreen?

If there is damage to your windscreen and you do nothing about it, you are immediately putting yourself, your passengers and other road users at potential risk. But is it legal to do so?

The short answer is no. Even if your car glass only has a tiny chip in it, your car could fail its MOT – and driving without an MOT is against the law. That means that if you want to stay legal while behind the wheel, you have to get your damage fixed. This might mean getting something as simple and easy as a chip repair, which usually takes just 30 minutes, or having to have your entire windscreen replaced. For the safety of you and others, though, it must be worth it.

If your windscreen is damaged, the effects could be more significant than you realise. While it might just appear to be a minor cosmetic issue, the fact is that the windscreen is responsible for a lot of your car’s structural strength. Windscreens aren’t just a piece of glass that protects you from wind, grit and stones any more – they are a crucial part of your vehicle’s design that forms an important part of what keeps it strong, structurally. And if you ever happened to get into an accident with a damaged windscreen, the protection given by having a sturdy car body and frame could be instantly diminished. Worse, if the accident is serious and your car ends up flipping over, the damage to the glass could reduce the windscreen’s ability to help protect you from being crushed or ejected from the vehicle.

There are many reasons not to drive with a damaged windscreen and the law is clearly just one of them. However, if you do manage to stay accident-free with a broken windshield, you could still come across trouble if it is discovered that you are on the road illegally. Driving without a valid MOT is an offence and you could be fined, lose privileges and gain points on your licence by doing so.

The benefits of dealing with a cracked windscreen far outweigh the worry of getting involved in an accident or being caught breaking the law. Take care of your car and it will take care of you – so ensure its glass is healthy and continue driving safely.

Options in buying a car

Options in buying a car

Cars are big-ticket items and they don’t come cheap. You need to save up for it or try car finance in Sydney for loans. When you first purchase the car, you need money right then and there. But the spending doesn’t just end there. Maintenance and repairs require even more money. If you’re a real car enthusiast, you’ll probably be tempted to buy car accessories. As for me, a good-working car will do just fine.

I checked out new car dealers to see what my options were. Car dealers have an endless array of cars to choose from and they’re all shiny and new. From simple cars to big, performance cars in Sydney – they have it all. But it’s funny and scary at the same time how the salesmen rush towards you like prey to a predator and throw several sales pitch at you. They will tell you everything you need and want to know about the car that you like. However, I was a little apprehensive because of the prices. I probably wasn’t ready to spend that much and new car sales probably wasn’t the best place for me.

The next stop I made was at used car dealers. They have a wide array of cars too but used cars this time. The prices are naturally cheaper than the new ones because they’ve already been used. However, used car sales do not sell cars that have defects or are no longer in good condition. Each used car they sell is guaranteed to be working well. They even have certified used cars which gives you an assurance that they are in good condition.

I got out of the used car dealer with a key and my very own car. It was a good buy without emptying your pockets.
